TAORMINA - In a comprehensive feature by correspondent Valerio Cappelli, Corriere della Sera brings attention to the significant impact of the Better World Fund, an event recently held during the Venice International Film Festival. The BWF 2023 event also shone a light on Taormina, where Mayor Cateno De Luca received recognition. Now, Taormina is set to become the new home of the Better World Fund starting in 2024.
Described by Corriere della Sera as "the international forum co-founded by Manuel Collas de la Roche in collaboration with the captivating producer Valentina Castellani Quinn (whose husband was Francesco Quinn, the son of the great Anthony Quinn, who passed away in 2011 at the age of 48 while playing with his children)," the forum focused on humanitarian causes within art and cinema. It dedicated space to 'The Power of Women in the World of Cinema,' while also announcing that the next edition will take place in Taormina. According to de la Roche, "The film industry provides positive role models that challenge traditional expectations and encourage women's empowerment, contributing to a more equal and inclusive society." The gala evening's proceeds will support the Maria Callas Foundation, commemorating the centenary of the soprano's birth – a woman symbolizing talent, passion, and unwavering dedication."
