British Boxer Tommy Fury Crowned “The Fight of Truth” by HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal

HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, the Chairman of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee (SOPC), bestowed the title "The Fight of Truth" upon British boxer Tommy Fury at the Diriyah Arena. This event attracted a diverse audience, including international figures like Portuguese football player Cristiano Ronaldo from Alnasr Club, along with boxers Mike Tyson, Deontay Wilder, and Tyson Fury. After seven intense rounds, Tommy Fury emerged as the victorious champion.

The "Fight of Truth" captivated spectators with its excitement and intense competition, extending to a total of eight rounds. British boxer Tommy Fury triumphed over his American opponent Jake Paul throughout the fight's rounds.

The evening saw seven additional fights commencing at eight, showcasing the prowess of Saudi boxers who were cheered on by the passionate crowd at the Diriyah Arena. Saudi boxer Ziyad Al-Majrashi secured a victory against Philip Kuansah, followed by Saudi female boxer Raghad Al-Nuaimi, who achieved victory with a powerful triple kick against Perpetual Okida. Salman Hamada, another Saudi boxer, swiftly secured a victory within seconds in his match against Philip Samson. In an anticipated showdown between Saudi professional boxer Ziyad Al-Mayouf and Panamanian boxer Ronald Martinez, Al-Mayouf claimed victory against a formidable opponent. American boxer of Yemeni descent, Adam Saleh, triumphed over Stuart Kellogg in the lightweight fight.

Furthermore, Swedish boxer Badu Jack triumphed in the heavyweight bout, earning the World Boxing Council Cruiserweight Championship title by defeating Congolese champion Ilunga Makabu in a 12-round fight that ended with a knockout. Jordanian boxer Badr Al-Samreen secured victory over his Romanian counterpart Viorel Simeon via knockout, while American Mohsen Casson emerged victorious against Azerbaijani Tariel Jafarov.

It's worth noting that this global boxing spectacle is not the first to grace the Kingdom. The same arena hosted the "Diriyah Circuit" in 2019, a monumental showdown between British boxer Anthony Joshua and Mexican rival Andy Ruiz for the world heavyweight boxing championship title. Anthony Joshua reclaimed the title after winning by points in front of a massive audience. Additionally, the Jeddah governorate held another internationally acclaimed fight last year, known as the "Red Sea Battle," featuring Anthony Joshua against Ukrainian Alexander Usyk, who emerged as the crowned champion.
