Dubai Emirates Records Over 14 Million Passengers in Busy Summer Season

Emirates, the world's largest international airline based in Dubai, has achieved a remarkable milestone this summer, transporting more than 14 million passengers with seat load factors surpassing 80 percent between June and August.

This achievement underscores the strong demand for international travel across Emirates' expansive global network, evident from booking trends. The city of Dubai remained a preferred destination, attracting two million travelers during the summer period.

Key inbound markets to Dubai included the UK, India, Germany, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, China, Egypt, and Kuwait. Notably, families constituted over 35 percent of Emirates' visitors to Dubai, with an average stay of more than two weeks to fully explore the city's attractions.

As winter approaches, Emirates anticipates another upswing in travel demand to Dubai. The city has already welcomed over 8.5 million international visitors in the first half of 2023, exceeding last year's figures by more than a million.

Emirates' Chief Commercial Officer, Adnan Kazim, highlighted the resilience of travel demand across their network, despite economic pressures in many markets. "We're happy to see strong customer preference for our product in all cabin classes, especially in our premium cabins," he added. "Emirates will continue to ensure we are delivering the best value for money to our customers, by investing in our products, services, and in operating an efficient global network."

Throughout the summer season, Emirates operated nearly 50,000 flights to and from 140 cities, leveraging its extensive network of 157 airline and rail partners, offering access to more than 800 cities in 100 countries.

The summer also saw Emirates' network expansion, including the launch of daily flights to Montreal, Canada, and additional flights to 12 cities to meet seasonal demand. Moreover, the airline reintroduced daily A380 services to various destinations and introduced a new A380 service to Bali, Indonesia. Emirates also unveiled a 4-class A380 aircraft with Premium Economy seats and expanded its codeshare arrangements with prominent airlines.

Emirates' successful summer underscores the airline's commitment to delivering exceptional travel experiences and maintaining its position as a global leader in aviation.
