Israel Extends Warm Wishes to Saudi Arabia on National Day
In a gesture of goodwill, Israel has conveyed its heartfelt congratulations to Saudi Arabia on the occasion of the Kingdom's 93rd National Day, celebrated on Saturday.
The Israeli foreign ministry, in a statement, expressed its sincere greetings and blessings to the king, government, and the people of Saudi Arabia. The message read, "May God bring you prosperity and blessings... with our hopes that an atmosphere of peace, cooperation, and friendly neighborliness will prevail." This message was shared via the ministry's Arabic-language account on X, formerly Twitter.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, while addressing the UN General Assembly on Friday, expressed optimism about the prospects of an "historic peace" between Israel and Saudi Arabia, hinting at a potentially significant development in their relationship.
Crown Prince Mohamed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia had earlier stated in an interview with Fox News that the two nations were drawing "closer" to normalizing their ties, indicating a potential thaw in their diplomatic relations.
It's worth noting that several Arab states, including the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, took significant steps in 2020 to normalize their relations with Israel, as part of the historic Abraham Accords, setting a precedent for improved diplomatic ties in the region.
