Mohammed bin Salman Launches Master Plan to Transform Saudi Arabia into a Global Logistics Hub
Saudi Arabia Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Salman, who also leads the Supreme Committee for Transport and Logistics, has revealed an ambitious master plan aimed at positioning Saudi Arabia as a prominent global logistics hub. The blueprint, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency, seeks to bolster the Kingdom's status as a premier investment destination, enhance its role as a major logistical hub, and foster economic diversification. It also envisions fortifying the infrastructure within the Kingdom's burgeoning logistics sector.
According to the Crown Prince, this plan represents one of the several initiatives set forth by the National Transport and Logistics Strategy (NTLS) to drive the growth of the logistics industry, thus serving as a vital economic pillar and strengthening connections at the local, regional, and international levels within the global supply chain and trade networks.
Leveraging its strategic geographical location, Saudi Arabia, situated at the crossroads of three pivotal continents—Asia, Europe, and Africa, aims to cultivate collaborations with the private sector, enhance job creation prospects, and ultimately evolve into a major global logistics powerhouse.
