Red Sea Global Celebrates Six Years of Progress with Impressive Phase One Construction Update for The Red Sea Project

Red Sea Global (RSG), the visionary force propelling regenerative tourism ventures such as Amaala and The Red Sea, has issued a comprehensive construction progress update concerning the inaugural phase of The Red Sea destination.

This month commemorates the six-year milestone since the visionary announcement of The Red Sea by His Royal Highness the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman as an international tourist haven, aligned with the Kingdom's 2030 Vision. As The Red Sea first three hotels and phase one of the international airport remain on track to inaugurate later this year, the latest construction update unveils remarkable advancements achieved across the expansive destination. This includes notable strides in the development of 13 additional hotels and the essential supporting infrastructure.

"We stand on the brink of an extraordinary moment as we prepare to unveil The Red Sea destination to the world. In these six years, we have achieved exceptional progress, sculpting exquisite resorts and pioneering best-in-class, sustainable infrastructure within a remote locale. This embodies innovation, resonating with our regenerative philosophy and commitment to conscientious development," articulated [Spokesperson's Name], [Title] at Red Sea Global. "As we eagerly anticipate the inauguration of our initial hotels and the launch of the solar-powered airport's initial phase, our focus remains unwavering on advancing the rest of phase one. With our unwavering dedication, we are poised to deliver countless more extraordinary moments, propelling Saudi Arabia onto the global stage as a premier must-visit destination."

Resort Construction Updates

The Desert Rock, a distinctive mountain resort ingeniously nestled within the rockface, has surpassed the 50% completion mark. RSG has achieved full excavation and construction of the 10 rooms seamlessly integrated into the mountain's contours, encompassing an impressive 195m of tunnelling. The execution of major structural and infrastructural elements is well underway, encompassing wadi villas, guest hubs, back-of-house facilities, and other integral structures.

Progress is consistently underway across all 11 resorts and interconnected infrastructure on Shura Island. Over 100 construction contracts are already established, complemented by a comparable number of projects currently open for tender. Leveraging the benefits of off-site manufacturing, precast structures are advancing briskly, while bathroom pod deliveries are well underway. The prefabricated timber structure for the Golf Clubhouse nears completion. RSG has embarked on beach formation and beautification, including the creation of new mangrove habitats in the forthcoming months.

On Sheybarah Island, RSG has successfully installed all 38 stainless steel overwater villas. Demonstrating their dedication to efficiency, the time required for installing these overwater villas has been significantly reduced, now taking less than two hours. Initial beach villa installations have commenced, exemplified by the successful installation of one villa. Substantial strides are also evident in the progression of back and front of house structures, along with foundational work for the spa and two specialized restaurants.

Infrastructure Updates

The Start-Up Distribution Center and Start-Up Transportation Hub are nearing completion, ensuring operational logistics are well-established prior to the debut of the first hotels. An impressive convoy of over 150 trucks laden with materials and facilitating the transportation of 2,000 personnel is a testament to the offshore projects' rigorous operations.

The Red Sea International Airport is progressing as scheduled, poised to welcome its inaugural domestic flights later this year.

In a recent announcement, RSG disclosed the successful installation of more than 760,000 photovoltaic panels, a crucial component powering phase one of The Red Sea. One of these five solar farms is strategically positioned near Six Senses Southern Dunes, The Red Sea. The imminent opening of The Red Sea's first hotel is underscored by the resort's current reliance on solar farm-generated utilities.

With over 25,000 dedicated personnel propelling operations forward, The Red Sea is witnessing a flurry of activity, ensuring rapid progress across the project.

Upon its full completion in 2030, this visionary destination will encompass an impressive array of 50 resorts, boasting up to 8,000 hotel rooms and over 1,000 residential properties spread across 22 islands and six inland sites. Luxury marinas, golf courses, entertainment avenues, fine dining, and leisure facilities will seamlessly integrate within the comprehensive offering.
