RIYADH: In a bid to advance eco-friendly water sports in Saudi Arabia, Red Sea Global, a developer under the Public Investment Fund, has forged a partnership with the renowned global sailmaker North Sails. The collaboration aims to offer cutting-edge performance attire, sailing kits, and technological support to enthusiasts.
This strategic alliance will extend into the realm of retail and merchandise, as RSG and North Sails collaborate to provide a comprehensive range of products, including kites, foils, sails, footwear, and accessories. Additionally, the two entities will closely cooperate on organizing events and fostering community engagement within the water sports sector.
As part of the agreement, North Sails will supply sports apparel to RSG’s water sports brand, WAMA, catering to all sailing and water sports personnel.

North Sails boasts an impressive track record of equipping top teams in prestigious sailing competitions, such as The Ocean Race, with high-performance gear," highlighted John Pagano, CEO of RSG.

North Sails was among the participants of the Fashion Pact, a coalition of fashion and luxury brands dedicated to science-driven environmental objectives. The company places an emphasis on utilizing recycled materials for most of its polyester and nylon products. Moreover, it employs eco-friendly practices such as organic cotton bags and packaging derived from certified sustainable sources.
The forthcoming WAMA capsule collection, developed in collaboration with North Sails Apparel, is set to offer a comprehensive selection of uniforms, along with a range of accessories including crew bags, backpacks, and laptop cases.
Marisa Selfa, CEO at North Sails Apparel, shared, "This partnership empowers us to extend our passion for the ocean to a broader audience in Saudi Arabia and globally, accompanied by top-tier equipment and apparel."
