Saudi Arabia Earns a Place in the Guinness Book of World Records with the World Largest Farm

In a remarkable achievement within the realm of agriculture, Saudi Arabia has secured its spot in the Guinness Book of World Records. The prestigious title has been bestowed upon the largest farm in the world, in terms of land area, which happens to be an extension of the Research Unit for Renewable Water Agriculture located in Wadi Bin Hashbal, Asir region.

The Saudi Reef Program marked this historic achievement with a special ceremony held at its headquarters in Riyadh. Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al Fadhli, the Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, was honored to receive the official certificate of registration on this momentous occasion.

This colossal farm spans an immense 3.2 million square meters and is divided into two distinct sections, each equipped with a concrete tank boasting a capacity of 500 cubic meters. The farm serves as a shining example of sustainable agriculture at its finest, employing an autonomous irrigation system to efficiently water the extensive array of crops cultivated across the two sprawling fields. Furthermore, it encompasses several residences and five air-conditioned greenhouses.

The farm's advanced irrigation techniques are complemented by a dependable water treatment system that was meticulously devised in multiple stages by a team of specialists well-versed in various facets of agriculture, including irrigation, fertilization, disease prevention, and equipment management.

The responsibility extends to an additional 20 fields slated for reclamation and planting with a variety of crops, ultimately resulting in a grand total of 50 fields dedicated to fruit trees. The farm is adorned with an impressive assortment of fruits and vegetables, including lemons, oranges, tangerines, pomegranates, grapes, figs, almonds, and olives, which are the standout produce on display. Additionally, the farm serves as a testing ground for a wide range of agricultural species, showcasing the innovation and sustainability at the heart of this agricultural marvel.

Saudi Arabia's achievement is a testament to the nation's dedication to advancing agriculture and sustainability on a grand scale, earning its place in the record books as the steward of the world's largest farm.
